Court Authorizes Alternative Service on DAO via its Online Discussion Forum in Bancor Cryptocurrency Class Action
On January 5, 2024, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman granted Co-Lead Counsel Hoppin Grinsell’s motion to serve a DAO defendant via the DAO’s online discussion forum in the Bancor Cryptocurrency Class Action, Basic v. B Protocol Case No. 23-cv-00533-RP (W.D. Tex.).

Hoppin Grinsell Files Amended Complaint in Bancor Cryptocurrency Class Action
On October 24, Hoppin Grinsell filed an amended complaint on behalf of a proposed class of U.S.-based investors in the Bancor cryptocurrency exchange. The amended complaint alleges (among other claims) that Bancor offered and sold unregistered securities, misled investors, and breached both contractual and fiduciary duties to its investors, causing millions in losses. Hoppin Grinsell has been appointed co-lead counsel on behalf of the proposed class.

Hoppin Grinsell Appointed Co-Lead Counsel in Bancor Cryptocurrency Class Action
Hoppin Grinsell has been appointed as co-Lead Counsel for a proposed class of U.S.-based crypto-asset investors who claim that the Bancor cryptocurrency exchange and its founders offered and sold unregistered securities, misled investors, and otherwise operated in violation of the securities laws, causing some individual investors to experience catastrophic losses and costing the class over $50 million USD.
